AuraStudio ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when using the AuraStudio app.
Information We Collect
Photos You Provide
When you use AuraStudio, you select photos from your device to use as reference images for AI portrait generation. These photos typically contain your face.
Face Detection Data
We use Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect faces in your selected photos. This detection is performed entirely on your device and includes:
- Face bounding box locations (used for validation and cropping)
- Photo quality validation
Important: We do NOT collect biometric identifiers, facial feature maps, or face recognition data.
How We Use Your Information
Face Detection
Face detection is used exclusively to:
- Validate that photos contain a visible face
- Ensure faces are appropriately sized for quality results
- Allow you to select which face to use when multiple faces are present
- Crop photos to center on your face
AI Portrait Generation
When you generate a portrait:
- Your reference photos are sent to Google's Gemini API
- The API processes your photos to create a stylized portrait matching your appearance
- Generated images are returned to your device
Data Storage
On Your Device
- Reference photos are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage
- Generated images are stored locally in your app gallery
- We do not have access to photos stored on your device
Third-Party Processing
- Google's Gemini API processes your photos for image generation
- Photos are transmitted securely via HTTPS
- Per Google's API terms, images sent for generation are not retained for model training
- We do not operate servers that store your photos
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except:
- Google Gemini API: Your reference photos are sent to Google solely for AI portrait generation
- Legal Requirements: If required by law
Data Retention
- Local Data: Photos remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app
- Google API: Images are processed transiently according to Google's Gemini API data handling policies
Your Rights and Controls
- Delete Photos: Remove reference photos anytime from within the app
- Delete Generated Images: Remove any generated portrait from your gallery
- Uninstall: Removing the app deletes all local data
Children's Privacy
AuraStudio is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information:
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Photos are stored using iOS secure storage mechanisms
- Face detection occurs on-device, never transmitted for detection purposes
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or App Store update notes.
